If your ticket is booked through a partner airline, you would need to call in for a seat assignment. The QR website would not work. You might try your luck with a partner airline website but if that doesn't work, your only option is to call Qatar Airways or contact a local ticketing office. There is no other getaway and regardless of how much this question is asked, the answer would not change.

If you are traveling solo or a duo on a QSuites equipped aircraft, the only way to get middle seats is at the airport. Those seats are reserved for parties over 3 people and they do not open for reservations with 1 or 2 passengers anytime. If you are 3 or more passengers on the reservation, you still need to call in to select middle quad seats on the QSuites. There is no online getaway unless the partner sites work.

Also another reminder that some hotline agents might create some excuses, regardless of the ticketing stock you have booked, you would need to contact QR for seat assignments. For example, if the flight is on a 125- stock BA wouldn't be able to help you. If one of the partner websites doesn't work and you haven't succeeded on your first phone call, you should HUACA ( hang up and call again ).

This is how I have always understood it too, but ..... I have 2 segments of a 4 segment PNR ( 2 passengrs ) which are being operated by qsuites. On one I can freely select a central rear facing pair ( doh - arn on a 359 ) but on the other all central seats are blocked ( doh - dps on a 777 ) . This is a Qatar website booking with Gold status on R class codes for all segments during October 21. This would suggest to me that the ability to select qsuite seats is down to individual flights or routes or aircraft types or lucky dip (!) and not as described ?
