With the pandemic it’s interesting how the rules are different everywhere. The Whole Foods hot food and salad bars were reopened in the Cleveland area stores. You have to clean your hands and put on gloves before taking food. The clubs don’t let you sit but you sit at gates. It would work with social distancing.
It is interesting how rules are quite different in different places. At CDG and AMS the lounges are open with nice hot food (nicer at CDG), but it has to be served to you by staff. Unless it is snack food like chips and nuts. And you can grab your own drinks, soft drinks, wine, beer and hard alcohol. At the AF lounge at JFK there is no hot food at all, but you can freely grab all the alcohol you want and nuts and cookies which you can enjoy in the lounge.
I wonder when we will get back to open competition between airlines and lounges instead of these patchwork rules?
