Certainly, the airline should note the potential for this when the flights are booked. If they consider it normal then inform fliers. I hadn't flown since last winter so how would I know what is happening at gates across America when no one is reporting it?
I understand not wanting to ride a bus from plane-to-gate and vice versa, but as flyerCO stated it just happens sometimes. Heck, I had to ride the bus from T2 to the TBIT @ LAX in October. Just the way it goes.
