OP can't book this as an EXTRASEAT because on the DEN-XXX leg, it's the
only seat. And OP can't book this under the actual name, because then you have duplicate tickets on the LAX-DEN leg.
You can't have ticket for a passenger whose name changes at the midpoint.
You could likely do it as an EXTRASEAT on LAX-DEN and then a regular ticket on DEN-XXX, but I suspect this is OP's attempt to get a better fare (LAX-XXX is probably cheaper than DEN-XXX).
Perhaps ANA would be willing to drop the last segment.
