Then after summer we moved to red and dark red levels and more recently to dark red+ countries . So now here is the last update :

Which can be translated into :
"New entry conditions in France: The French authorities have just changed the categorization of countries for entry into the national territory. This change will apply from 11 NOV (flights departing 10 NOV may be affected).
So-called "dark red+" countries for which a negative Covid test of less than 72 hours is mandatory before boarding as well as an exceptional travel certificate.
Countries already "dark red+": Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, United States, Panama. Countries added on 11NOV: South Africa, Algeria, China, Ecuador, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Lebanon, Morocco, Democratic Republic of Congo, Turkey, Russia , Ukraine and Zimbabwe.

So-called "dark red" countries for which a negative Covid test of less than 72 hours is strongly recommended and in case of no show it will be carried out on arrival in France at the airport. The customer must also provide a certificate of exceptional travel. Are concerned: All countries except Greens and dark red+. Note: the following previously green countries will be "dark red" on 11NOV: Canada, Georgia, Tunisia and Uruguay. So-called "green" countries for which no entry restrictions related to COVID apply. European countries already "green": the Member countries of the European Union and the following States: Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, United Kingdom, San Marino, Vatican and Switzerland. Other countries already "green": Australia, South Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Thailand and Rwanda. "Green" countries added on 11 NOV: Singapore.
The following tests are accepted for entry into France: - RT PCR- RT LAMP- ANTIGENIC The customer must provide a certificate. As a reminder, the need for a negative Covid test is applicable to passengers from 11 years old.
"

This list has become purely political and not anymore related to the number of cases in a given country. EEA being green and China being dark red+ is really laughable IMHO
This is highly ridiculous.
And highly political as you suggest.
China is currently the safest country (or one of them). Sure, it controls entry into China but all other countries on the green list do too. This is a political kneejerk reaction which brings nothing positive and irritate China and penalize French nationals who wish to fly back to France. Also funny that Hong Kong, Taiwan,or Macau are not listed as green; I assume that they are included in "China". And why Rwanda green and not Vietnam. Probably lots of political input.

BTS: any linked source?
