This is not deserving of any kudos, it's a slap in the face against any customer who was suckered into paying for Polaris. What I would expect from a Polaris hub experience, is being offered an unlimited choice of hot soups, hot entree dish, and special desserts along with unlimited premium beverages from the lounge, to be brought out from the kitchen to me by a staff member, along with a reserved area of the lounge set aside just for Polaris customers.
Although, American Airlines have cut the free drink perk that they offered to international passengers who have accessed the club through status or travel class at their AA Admirals Club lounges and they are asking money for premium booze even for Flagship First customers.
This is an upgrade for United at the moment compared to their competitors.
