I flew on TK008 on 29 October from IAD-IST in J.
Loads were about 30% full, had a window seat with no one next to me.
Soft products offered were:
- Slippers
- Standard Amenity kit (Versace)
- Full bedding (mattress, pillows and comforter)
- Blanket
- Denon noise canceling headsets
Catering was a box of cold items for dinner and cold items for breakfast.
Limited beverages available (water, juice, soft drinks, bottled wines).
No tea or coffee available.
Overall, normal soft products except for the significantly reduced catering and beverage offerings.
Lounge at IAD had limited food offerings - three types of salads, two types of cold sandwiches, pack of chips, cookies. Alcohol on demand from lounge attendant.
Flight from IST-IAD on TK007 in J on 20 October was exactly the same offering.
Except TK lounge at IST offered some hot options (AM - panini sandwiches, PM - pide selection, lentil soup, beef/chicken kofte plus a selection of salads and deserts). No alcohol offered in the lounge.
Would strongly advise anyone traveling in J ex-IST to have a proper meal in the TK lounge instead of having the cold box catering on the plane.
I also used IGA lounge at IST to take a shower while in transit, they also have a variety of cold and hot food options including alcohol and espresso machines.
Also worth noting that no rolling carry on luggage is allowed on board. Knowing this in advance I had a backpack which no one weighed. I saw many people at check in have to check in their rolling carry on bags (at no extra charge).
Hope this helps with the latest J class long haul travel experience with TK!
