Even if Marriott aren't statutorily required to do so, it would still be a good customer service gesture in my view (although perhaps 'good service' is not their strong suit of late).
There’s a bill that was pretty far along in NY called the NYPA that was looking like it would pass and very similar to CCPA but it has not. Marriott may have prematurely assumed it would pass and was handing it out to NY residents. Canada similarly has the
PIPEDA.
it seems like Marriott is manually pulling data on people. I understand why they would not want to fulfill requests they are not required to.
