The number of people actually willing to do a 30-night mattress run are so tiny that I would be shocked if Hyatt bases its overall strategy on it.
However you're almost certainly right about the "no more extensions" because it takes away some of the imperative to stay at a Hyatt. I suspect we WILL see more "double elite status credit" promos (and not just for checking out on 4 specific dates). Maybe brand specific. Maybe after Hyatt have taken a look at projections mid-way through 2021. But twiddle their thumbs whilst elite members continue to avoid travel for very good reasons? Unlikely...
