My wife has been supporting a Filipina friend who lost her restaurant due to Covid-19. She cooks from home and sells the meals. Tuesday, she ordered Kare' Kare' and a separate order of Beef w/Onions that she wanted me to try. I do like some Filipino foods especially the way they make Spaghetti with a sweet Meat Sauce that actually contains pieces of hot dogs as well, but this was so salty, I could not eat it. She then tried it, and said the same, but would not call her friend to let her know. We wasted some money that we don't really have as to me it's inedible.
Always bring it to their attention, otherwise how can they fix it? No need to be mean, just say it was too salty. Personally, I’d mix in some bottled sauce that wasn’t salty to “even” the salt level out.
I’ve run into problems with my wife’s cooking with similar things. You don’t want go criticize, but you don’t want them to waste their effort on something that’s not right.
