That's not an accurate characterization of the blog, even as it has become more politically-charged in a way than it used to be. But a lot of this is driven as much by society at large and the audience for the blog as the blogger.
Some of the bigger BoardingArea.com and other miles/points/travel-covering blogs have become even more politically-charged than usual during this pandemic, but many of these blogs were already heavily loaded in this regard for quite some time and then some.
VFTW? Check. TheGate? Check. LiveandLetFly? Check. Dansdeals? Check. Why would OMAAT be an exception at this time?
Just because I don't always agree with the political stances of a travel-covering blogger -- or other travel sites' editorial angle/bending of a forum -- doesn't mean their site has no use for me and isn't still valuable for travel purposes. If anything, it's just par for the course that I and others in the audience have to sift and mine for information to find whatever ore/veins of material is valuable to us and accept the reality that trying to strip out all politics from travel forums is not too far removed from trying to fly commercially without petroleum-based jet-fuel.
