Just a data point . Sas cancelled my flight to Los Angeles 1st August : I would have been happy to be rerouted to San Francisco where they still fly but no such luck. Asked for refund, ignored. Sent them registered letter requesting refund , which they refused to pick up. Monday I submitted a third party docket complaint to DOT and by magic today I get email saying they refined today and that I will get confirmation of refund tomorrow. I don’t know if it’s coincidence , but seems suspicious few days after lodging docket they have a change of heart ?
Just out of curiosity, how did you initially ask for a refund only to get ignored? Bookings on cancelled flights could be refunded directly on the SK website. I did not need to request a refund, I just processed the request online, and got an email confirming. Then actually getting the money was another matter.
