Not travelled on the 777 in J, is there a slight offset between the sides and the centre which would make this sub-optimal?

Thanks
Depends on how much you want to talk to each other and which variant of the 777 you are on. I am assuming you are on the LGW-MCO and so advising on the LGW variant of the 777.
I find the middle seats too cosy which is fine for overnight with your partner but for day, feels a bit too cocooned. Also both EF passengers on row 2 will have to climb over someone to get out. This is mitigated on the last row of J which has direct aisle access for all three of you if you go DEF, although E is classed as the bassinet seat, so you could be moved if passenger with baby gets booked on your flight.
ABD will work but it is harder for A and D to chat easily although whoever is in A gets a window seat.
Take your pick.
