I'm not surprised on the devaluation and I was expecting it given how much Aeroplan miles AC was selling. The family account is really interesting. Apparently up to 8 members of the household can share points for free. The status boost from credit card spending isn't as lucrative as US-based cards though. There's no AQD waiver or credit from using their credit cards.
