I got a good deal in the recent flash sale by BA so it is not too bad ( I did consider - a non stop with Ryanair from EDI but it is only 2x weekly with a late arrival into VCE and an equally bad arrival back into EDI).

UPDATE- 1 Aug-

1 Week to go and begining to get a little bit excited ( and hoping italy does not spike in the next fortnight). I had booked an Executive King room ( hopefully get an upgrade to a venice view room or jr suite) and was looking at the prices and they have come down so rebooked the same room and saved EUR 105 for the week ( rate is now eur217 per night). The savings will pay for a few drinks on the skyline bar ( might go up a couple of nights mideweek as it should be quieter ( may have to prebook a slot but will do it on arrival)
