You have three months (not literally; it's until the end of the second month after the month the fee posted in); my fee posted April 1 so it had to be done by the end of June, which is as long as one could possibly have basically. The least time you could get is if your fee posted on the last day of a month, giving you two months plus one day to process it. With the hundreds of thousands of miles in the account, not earning interest, becoming less valuable, and at the time not knowing if I would be on the layoff list at work and knowing that if I weren't, we are all getting pay cuts, the decision was easy to redeem some miles for the fee. Cash is king right now. The "pay yourself back" with Sapphire Reserve points has also been in play, something I hadn't imagined in January but times are different!
With so many Clubs still being closed, it is surprising they are not doing more of an adjustment. Actually, it isn't surprising; it's just disappointing. There is so much less value in the card right now; the PQPs are worthless with so little flying and extended status until Feb. 2022, and the Clubs are closed; there are some card benefits but the travel-related ones (primary car rental insurance, etc.) are also irrelevant right now for many people (which they could see by charge activity).
