Generally speaking if you are sure you did absolutely nothing in response to your cancellation notification, you didn't call BA or use the webform, or click on the cancellation options on manage my booking - then going forward on that basis and challenging BA through a Money Claim Online (MCOL) application in the Small Claims courts is probably your only option at this stage.
