Any workarounds? Does calling UA work?
Who issued the ticket? Is it 016 UA ticket? Prior to travel, ticket changes need to be done by the issuing airline? Sometime changing the FF can be done by others but best to work with the issuing airline.
Paid or award ticket?

There can only be one FF account on the PNR at one time
