Premier sometimes has Promotional rates for "new" money. For example, there was an offer in May at 1.5% guaranteed for 90 days, after which the rate will no doubt be reduced. While "new" money is required to open the account, additional funds can be moved from other HSBC accounts, including HSBC Direct.
