First off, let me state that while my refunds with QR have not been entirely smooth, it's relative. EK is behaving seemingly in bad faith and putting as many hurdles as possible for the customer to get refunds, it's been awful and I cannot imagine that I will want to reward them with my business any time soon as they have been borderline criminals. So while I am not ecstatic about QR, I have EK to remind me how "great" QR have been.
However I have a specific question. On a QR mileage redemption, flight cancelled, when they refund the taxes back to my credit card, is it correct that they subtract a booking fee rather than give me back the entire amount paid? In the grand scheme of things it's not very material and I am happy just getting my miles back, which not all other airlines have done (I am looking at you, LH) but I was mostly curious about not paying back all taxes.
