Mirage is close to my favorite sleazebag casino--Casino Royale. Dump but I love gambling there--be sure to get a players card there right away...you get $25 free play and comps for food (albeit junk food) come very fast.
You are leaving on the 4th? You won't be there for fireworks--Vegas does a good job with them.
I chose it because it had good reviews and about $75 less than PH. I also like that's it's close walking to everything. and has 11 restaurants. It's GOT to be better than the Tropicana I stayed at last year. That room was a dump.
Thanks for the tips--I will walk over to Casino Royale and get a players card.
