An F-22 crashed the other day, and another crashed a couple of years ago due to pilot error (incorrectly computed takeoff speed led to premature rotation), so even the most modern fighters can crash.
(No idea whether the plane's age played a role in this, or what their accident rate is compared to other acrobatics teams, just pointing out that there are lots of things that can bring an aircraft down)
I intended my message to communicate the same sentiment. Many RCAF aircraft have crashed during "routine" flights in the past 20 years. All are tragic.
