I am technically allowed to enter the UK from Ireland without quarantine, so I asked what would happen if I were to fly to London and back in early August. They said the policy may change, but currently that upon my return I would have to self isolate at home for 14 days and that police may be assigned to check in on me.
Which is really all a bit ironic as you can fly LHR-BHD then get the bus or train down South with no checks at all !
