Precisely. If demand returns blocking seats is not a fiscally responsible policy even if COVID-19 is not under control. If you are uncomfortable sitting next to someone else, don't travel. Personally I don't think COVID-19 will ever go away but hopefully it can be controlled. Each person is going to have to decide for themselves what risks they are willing to accept.
