What about HONs, with a 2 year requalification cycle? Cannot fly a lot in 2020, does it mean I have to make up for the missed 2020 by flying crazy number of flights in 2021? Or are HONs given half-a-requalification-worth of status miles (=300k)? This is what Flying Blue has done for ULTI which also has a 2 year requalification cycle. That doesn't guarantee requalification, but it helps. What is Lufthansa's approach?
