You may want to try to get Copa to refund Cheapo for the cancelled flight first, then try to talk to someone at Cheapo who understands this and is in a position to authorize a refund to you. This doesn't sound easy and is generally a reason why many people don't prefer to book through OTA.

Which credit card did you use for this transaction?

Yeah I know better and did it anyway. The day of purchase they just had a better payment option. I guess at the end of they day I might be able to use the credit to go to Quito or something next spring break.

It won't be a total loss I just need to book new tickets to Aruba.

I have filed for a refund on the Copa website to will be patient and see what their e-mailed response is.

Really appreciate your help on this. Another reason to love FT.
