Or does it depend on AC on the tech side and them implementing their own "Travel Bank" (like WJ), as they've been rumoured to be doing.
They already have a way to extend outstanding credits - a while back there was something about extending the expiry of recently cancelled tickets (COVID-related) to the new 24-month policy, if I recall correctly.

I don't know how generous they'll be with tickets cancelled prior to coronavirus being a problem, but at some point one would think they'd have to start giving some extensions on those too.

A WS-style travel bank would be wonderful, but I wouldn't count on it.
