Still, I don’t believe the jokes are done just yet - they still need to prove they can actually run the place and I see Daldrup is suggesting BER is going to need another 1.8bn euros to avoid bankruptcy.

And like most comedies, this news is bittersweet for me as a fan of TXL. I remember thinking when I left Berlin on 17 March whether I might have had my last Currywurst in the old train carriage. Two cancelled trips later and highly sceptical about my next three in June and July, I think it might yet prove to be. Cue the next eight years of THF-style wrangling about what to do with it.
Don't worry, I’m sure the Ess-Bahn will move to BER as well!
