Apoligies if I've misunderstood your question, however, the airline we're talking about here is Virgin Atlantic Airways (IATA code VS) which is 51% owned by the Virgin Group (Branson's company).
Not to be confused with Virgin Australia (VA) which has already fallen into administration and in which Virgin Group have a stake of only 7-8%, or the former Virgin America (VX) in which Virgin Group's stake was limited by US DOT requirements and federal laws to a maximum of 25%, and which was sold to Alaska Air Group in 2016.
A lot of Virgin-branded enterprises (for example Virgin Money and Virgin Active gyms) have limited ownership shares held by Virgin Group itself, some, like Virgin Mobile in the USA and the UK telco Virgin Media have no Virgin stake at all and simply pay a licence fee to use the Virgin brand
