I doubt it would be the LAX-LHR segment. When would I find out about any flight cancellations? If they don’t cancel... would I be able to get a refund on the taxes and seats that I purchased for the flights? At least I’d get a fair chuck of money back!
thanks!
The general advice - which is the main Rebooking thread to be found via the BA COVID-19 Dashboard - is to wait until the last moment to see if youi flights are cancelled, thus enabling a full cash refund. It's not likely to be cancelled in the final 24 hours before departure, however, so that's the deadline in a way. If you booked via BA directly, added your cellphone and email address, you should get a notification automatically but it's worth a daily look on Manage My Booking since some people don't seem to get these notifications. You won't get a refund on seating costs if you cancel while the flights are running, so only look to do that if you are at the deadline. You would get the taxes back, and it's possible your ticket has some flexibility on refunds, it may say something about that in Manage My Booking. I hope you are able to sort something out.
