BA has no clue whatsoever about what's going on - apparently my refund now sits with the "Head of complex refunds" - I literary had to hold back the laughter whilst on the phone.
If you haven't already I would suggest you send a PM to 'BA refund helper' with details of your booking. They have helped many on here.
