You did better than me. Same situation, with LAX-LHR-LAX converting to the DFW connection, mid-April, using SWUs to upgrade. Telephoned EXP desk on March 24 to cancel. SWUs returned to my account the following day. As of April 7, prefunds.aa.com still shows "pending review", with no refund yet to credit card account.
