Depends on how much cycle they have left until the next C or D check. I think AA would rather hold on to them and delay the 789. Oil is less than $30 a barrel and there is no debt service cost on the fully paid for and depreciated 772. They all have new business class seats which were installed at the last major check. So my guess is they have quite a ways to go before another major check.

I doubt AA is planning to retire recently redone 777s. They aren't that old.
