It’s very good news that nobody will actually lose their job. I wonder will the employed be happy with BA or annoyed - how will it affect their views on the company and management?

I do question the fairness of the job retention scheme though on a business side. Many businesses will need this in order to save jobs and the company, however, companies who are financially secure could also furlough their workers just to save some money and further improve their position.

Now in no way am I saying BA should have kept everyone on because IAG is financially wealthy, I know they’re suffering badly due to CV19. But, surely this is just an easy way to save some money over the next few months, even if the money saved isn’t critical for saving the business. Personally I think a company should only furlough it’s staff if it’s at risk of failing otherwise.
