They are all independent companys. Qantas is only a shareholder Has no responsibly for refunds etc.

So please explain what is JetStar Group - a wholly owned subsidiary of Qantas:

Is corporate law in OZ so ineffectual that company x can absolve themselves of legal responsibility by creating subsidary y ??

In that case, Australia is far from a market economy. It is more like a banana state!
