Despite the virus situation, before the whole country to be locked down, I sneaked out and had a stay at this property cause we don't know when we could travel again . It is in my hometown anyway so it was not too bad.

Novotel Marina Bay Sriracha, Chonburi, Thailand.
Diamond status

Recently open on Valentine's Day this year, which is very bad timing for them. I bet the owner would want to bury their head in their hands but, you know, the virus, so they couldn't...or maybe they wash their hands first...
Received an upgrade, from the lowest category to Junior Suite, plus 2 drink vouchers to be used at their roof top bar called Moon Sky (or was it Sky Moon...) on 26th floor. Gym and pool were closed, but lounge was opened. Roof top bar was with ocean view (rocky kind, not sand beach), it was quiet, only my table and another. Bartender and another 2 staff were practicing cocktail making, probably to kill time, but they seemed to have fun too despite the situation. I wonder how the staff coping with the situation, that they just start their new job on 14th Feb, then got hit by the pandemic right away which probably made their job on a shaky ground. Also, they have planned to open another hotel on the island side this June with ferry from this hotel to the other. It's kind of nice and I wish to try it soon, though I think the plan might be on hold for now. But anyway, I hope they hang in there. I will definitely visit them again.

Nothing fancy, but it's first time I received the welcome card signed by various hotel departments, I guess they were excited to receive a guest in this quiet time. "Stay away from virus and take care", how nice of them.
Also, my preferred drinks as state in my Accor profile - diet coke. Only 2 hotels so far picked this out, this hotel and VIE MGallery Bangkok.
