disingenuous implies they're doing it specifically to lower their segment/MQM liabilities, which is absolutely not what's going on here. These routes are artifacts of the way reservation and ticketing systems have worked for eons. Now, could DL fix their IT to recognize these? Sure, but there are a million other broken things they could fix as well. For the vast majority of travelers, this is a very rare edge case.
