IMO, one of, if not the, most annoying aspects of flying AA. Operations knows what is going to happen but for whatever reason the operational reality doesn't get communicated to the front line systems accessible by the GAs, AAngels, web and app interfaces, etc. The front-line systems live in a world where AA expects a deus ex machina to appear. Sadly, it never does.
