No. His background is in construction. He's also a pilot and has a small charter business, which flies organs around the country for transplants. Believe he attended Hofstra. He is extremely wealthy, has been previously involved in politics (back in the Thaksin days). He is part of a small political party, Bhumjai Thai (proud to be thai), which allowed the military party to form a coalition government. He was given the ministry of public health rather than the transport ministry (which his party shares) as the latter is an enviable "trough".

AFAIK, this quarantine order is not legit, as of right now. Anything can happen tomorrow.

At this point his decison-making is questionable. He's way out of his depth, and can't bluster his way through, so think he's up for a stay-cation?

But then the military party has a heroin-smuggling (confessed, convicted and served six years in Australia) deputy minister for agriculture so the bar is pretty low here. We're told that he didn't do it, and even if he did, it's OK because it wasn't in Thailand.
