If you receive a BP without the Pre-Check logo, you may have been randomly or intentionally deselected or your passenger data may have been screwed up. WN can remove your KTN and then reenter it and you can try reprinting at the airport. If it still does not work, chalk it up to bad luck if it happens just this once. If it continues to happen, you may want to consider applying for a redress number.
Also, we recently added some self service in this area. If you don’t get TSA Precheck you can now re-enter your KTN number on southwest.com when using a tablet or computer. Then you can go through the check in process again to see if pre-check appears after re-entering the number. If that doesn’t help please try to chat with us via the mobile app while logged in. We can double check things on our end.

The Edit KTN feature is coming soon to our mobile apps and our mobile website. Right now you can add, but not re-add a KTN or Redress number in our mobile apps.

One thing we have noticed is that sometimes Customers think that by adding your KTN in your account that it will be automatically populated in your upcoming trips. That does not occur and we’re adding some verbiage to the My Account page to make sure people are aware that you still need to add your KTN to upcoming trips.

Rephrasing for clarity. One thing we have noticed is that some Customers think that the first time they add their KTN in their account that our systems will retroactively apply it to any existing bookings. Once you put it in your account we will add it to new bookings from that point, but we don’t retroactively apply it to your existing bookings. We’re adding some verbiage to make that clearer when you add or change your KTN under your account profile.

As others mentioned, Southwest does not make the Precheck eligibility determination. That decision is made by the TSA and Precheck status is not guaranteed. More details on that can be found at the TSA website. Hope that helps!
