Sorry, you are right and I was not clear in my thinking.
Introducing PE does not need new types per se, but with an entirely new COS there is a good opportunity for doing a revamp of the types. Selling stuff usually benefits from a structure and logic.
Originally a 2x2 product matrix: Y and J sold as fixed or flex. Then they made Y a 3 tier thing, Basic, Value, Pro, while J was left as was. (or 4 tier if you count campaign)
Then they hacked away adding light. The simple logic matrix destroyed.
With a new COS, ie a "totally new product", they are likely tempted to rebuild the matrix: and now make it a 3x3: Y, Y+ and J offered as light, skimpy and overpriced.
That was my line of thinking, ie not that PE directly needs ticket types but indirectly.
