When I saw searching for the routing options last month on the AE site, i was able to get as far as the payments screen, so it looks to be valid.
But today, when I go in to really book it, when I select the flight segments, I get the message that this routing I am over the allowed mileage?
by going thru tokyo that is over twice the actual distance between Toronto and Honolulu. i've never seen any city pair that is double than the actual distance. even toronto - perth, the most generous routing is not double than the actual distance between the two city pairs.

too bad that you didn't purchase the first time, probably aeroplan at that time didn't iron out all the kinks and they are now closing all the loopholes.
