Not sure if this is helpful to anyone as a data point but we've just re-booked our AGP-LGW flight from tomorrow to today. Means just a day trip and losing a hotel but better than getting stuck on this occasion!
We used the ticket desk at Gatwick and the lady who helped us said there was definitely no refund option currently, but the change was processed very easily.
