This is weird. Almost unbelievable. Wallets get lost all the time. Shopping with a stolen credit card happens everyday, everywhere.
Police usually don't bother to investigate these incidents at all as there are too many of these incidents.
How did the police trace back the person doing the purchase for starters? Did they check security cameras, do a scan of the face (if possible) at all, match it to a person and then go to their house and interrogate the person? All for a charge that did not go through? makes no sense at all.
