You would be fine either way. Walking would be prefered if it's just you and/or a small group of competent walkers. If you're with kids/elderly/handicapped, go for the shuttle.
Walking between B/C and F would be slightly quicker, and the bus has more variability due to wait times and tarmac traffic. If going between A and F, the bus would be quicker on average.
Terminals B/C are the epicenter of the airport. Once you get through those terminals, foot traffic drops considerably.
