(I was also bemused by the new NEXUS machines that demanded I scan my passport and take my picture and then determined that my picture wasn't "good enough" (okay I was really tired after the first flight) so it X'd me and I had to show the docs to the agent.)
Barely made the gate in time to buy a sandwich at that Camden take-out because despite being J7 or more the day before, I stalled at 4th on the upgrade list by flight time.
"Connections" at YVR is not OSS. OSS is unsigned and to your right as you are entering the NEXUS area. You must turn around and head to the back corner of the customs hall instead of going to Arrivals, Connections, NEXUS, or literally anything that has a sign on it.
For entertainment I watch the confusion from the TB PPL which overlooks the customs hall.
