Bring your own food onboard.
Theres no easy way it’s just a grind.
Once I made Million Miler I started booking Premium Economy on other airlines and accept the connections. The economy service on UA Long haul is abysmal.
+10000. I recently flew the SQ version in PE, and it was long for PE. No way I would want to fly that length of flight in the narrow slimline seats on the 787, nor to have to eat the dog food United provides.
OP, the only real answer to your question is based upon how big you are. If you are less than about 5'9" and are not obese, you can make it in an E+ seat. Just bring your own food, and a neck pillow, and probably a blanket. If you can hold up your neck and keep from freezing, and bring enough to eat for 16+ hours (usually 16 hours 45 minutes at this time of year) you can survive it.
If you are much taller/wider than this, I don't know what to say. I would break up the flight with a stop where you have lounge access if you had to do in Y, and take an airline that has decent Y service (SQ, CX (but not on the 773 which is 10x), JAL, OZ, all come to mind)
