Those of us who visit this forum regularly know the current policy, but we're a small minority. For others, even those with a long history and a ton of lifetime nights, it's easy to see how they might not.
Well at least I learned something new today. I normally book direct, hence did not notice this change. But on occasion when I have used other channels, this was a big incentive to choose Marriott. Sad to see they have got rid of it.
