If staying in a hotel (sometimes I stay with friends or in Airbnb), I often stay at the Le Méridien because their treatment as elite has always been stellar - upgrades to 2-room suites, occasionally invites to special events like a paella cooking class, etc. I’ve only stayed at the Renaissance once, and it was fine but didn’t make a huge impression. The location is perfect, though.
