Like most rankings, there is more to the story. Headlines are for attention getting, not reporting.
WN had a fatality - ONE fatality over the past ten years when part of the engine came off.
AND the biggest hit to their rating is that WN does not do the IOSA certification/auditing.
“Registering for IOSA certification and auditing is not mandatory,” AirlineRatings.com noted. “Therefore an airline that does not have IOSA certification may have either failed the IOSA audit or alternatively chosen not to participate.”
